our story

mcflorent Interiors was formed in Croxley Green, Hertfordshire, in 2013 by couturier and interior furnishings creator mosand clodine-florent.
mosand is of French Caribbean heritage. Growing up in Mulhouse, eastern France during the 1980s, he initially trained as a tailor and soon caught the attention of renowned Italian couture house Maison Barioni.
Over his subsequent employment with Barioni, mosand would undertake many projects and experience working with lighter and more refined fabrics, including chiffon, cashmere, loose weave wool and silk.
Working with such quality materials sparked an interest that would later come to manifest in mosand's career.
Following a relocation to the UK in 1989, mosand would spend the next two decades working with numerous London-based fashion houses and designers. These included Thierry Mugler and Ralph Lauren; the couture house for Sarah Ferguson's wedding dress, Lindka Cierach Couture; and Camilla Parker-Bowles' engagement and wedding dressmaker, Robinson Valentine.
mosand directly contributed to the tailoring of the engagement dress for Camilla Parker-Bowles, considered one of the highlights of his career.
In 2013, seeking a new challenge away from the fashion world, he completed the highly-regarded Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) Soft Furnishings Certification. Under the direction of Wendy Shorter-Blake MBE, mosand graduated with a Distinction, setting him on the path he now treads.
mcflorent Interiors stems from mosand's passion for working with elegant and refined fabrics to design and create bespoke handmade soft furnishings and accessories.
